Welcome!

I’m an energy consultant and assistant professor at the University of Maryland-Global Campus. My research focuses on the intersection of resource development and national security. I’m also interested in the migratory decisions of Chinese STEM PhD graduates trained in the United States.

My work spans consulting, academic research, and public commentary—offering insights into the oil and gas industry, energy transition, and U.S. immigration. My writing has appeared in War on the Rocks and the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, and I’ve been featured in outlets including Nature and Yahoo Finance.
